Diverse solutions to housing injustice | World Homeless Day 2019

This week I’ve had the pleasure of catching up with our colleagues at our partner organisations, to chat about their unique approaches to helping clients experiencing homelessness.

At Commonweal we’re all about action-learning: exploring and testing bold new ideas, to help those who ‘fall through the gaps’ of mainstream housing services. We couldn’t do all this trying and testing, however, without our partners.

Through their work providing face-to-face support to young adult carers, VAWG survivors, destitute migrants and many more at the sharpest ends of deprivation, they provide the expert knowledge to teach us what’s needed to provide thoroughly supportive housing.

As our CEO Ashley Horsey put it in the Independent last week, one-size-fits all housing solutions are no sustainable response to the housing crisis. We need solutions as diverse as those we serve, and that’s exactly what we hope to encourage through our partnership work.

Scroll down to read what our partners had to say about their unique, diverse work to tackle homelessness.
