Chrysalis project: London South Bank University appointed

Commonweal have appointed London South Bank University to carry out the first evaluation of the Chrysalis project which is run in partnership with St. Mungo’s.  The evaluation will be carried out over the next two years by Professor Roger Mathews of the Crime Reduction and Community Safety Research Group at London South Bank University.

The Chrysalis project began in April 2009 and provides a resettlement programme for female former sex workers. Commonweal provides housing for the final residential phase of a 3-phase resettlement programme initially created by St. Mungo’s. The new, third phase gives clients the opportunity of living independently in one-bedroom flats to aid their transition to self- sufficient living.
