The project aims to prevent homelessness amongst mothers upon their release from prison so that they can regain custody of their children and be re-united as a family. A range of services are provided to help both the mother and her children re-establish themselves as a self-sufficient, harmonious family unit. It is aimed to achieve this within a period of two years before the families move on . Commonweal has invested over £2m in this project which is planned to run for ten years.
Evaluation of the pilot project was provided by the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge. A summary of the evaluation report is available to read here

Research projects are short term, aimed to encourage other organisations to take into consideration the nuances of social injustices in housing, so that those organisations can enhance the details of their delivery.
